Melissa Taylor has earned her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Silver and Gold Medals and won several Champion and Reserve Champion honors at the GAIG/USDF Regional Championships. Highlights of her 2006 season include winning the Grand Prix B And Grand Prix Special at Dressage at Devon aboard Succes; and winning the Region I Great American/USDF Intermediare I Open Championships with Schumacker Solyst.  As one of the top 12 riders in the nation, Taylor qualified for and competed in the 2005 and 2006 United States Equestrian Team Foundation Dressage Festival of Champions in Gladstone, New Jersey. A professional rider and trainer, Taylor operates Legacy Farms with Lars Petersen and is based in Wellington, Florida and West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Melissa began her competitive riding career as a child in hunt seat equitation and continued in that discipline as an adult. In the late 1990's, she trained briefly as a three-day eventer, and in 1999 began exclusively training in dressage. Competing as an Adult Amateur, Melissa rose rapidly up the ranks with her horses Ike and Cidor. She started training with Danish Olympian Lars Petersen in 2002 and made her Grand Prix debut that same year with Cidor. By 2003, Melissa had acquired a topnotch international-caliber mount  in the Danish Gelding Schumacker Solyst,  and later that year changed her status with the US Equestrian Federation (USEF) to professional.

Melissa is currently aiming to ride for the United States Equestrian Team in international competition and has her sights set on the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup Final for Dressage in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Succes; a berth on the U.S team bound for the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with her Swedish Warmblood gelding Dacardo; and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with Succes.

Melissa has successfully competed at all the major dressage shows on the east coast including the Winter Equestrian Festival, Palm Beach Dressage Derby, New England Dressage Association, (NEDA) Fall Festival, Dressage at Devon, DCI3*/Y Raleigh and Capital Dressage Classic and the Zada Enterprises Dressage at the National.

Lars Petersen
Grand Prix Dressage Rider and Trainer
Born: March 9, 1965

Residence: Wellington, Florida

Lars Petersen has represented Denmark international at the pinnacle of competitive dressage for more than 10 years, including at the Olympic Games, three World Equestrian games, two World Cup Finals, and three Continental Championships. He was also named Danish National Champion five times.

In 2001, through his successes with Blue Hors Cavan, Lars achieved the position of #2 in the FEI World Rankings. The following year, Lars and Blue Hors Cavan were the Reserve Champion at the 2002 World Cup final in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, and also competed at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, where they finished 10th individually. That same year, Lars moved to the United States where he was initially based in Virginia and now operates from Wellington, Florida and West Chester,  Pennsylvania, with Melissa Taylor and Legacy Farms.

Since coming to the United States, Lars has chalked up an impressive record at some of the most prestigious shows in America, including the Zada Enterprises Dressage at the National, where he won the Grand Prix aboard his Danish warmblood Succes (formerly Dansko's Success) in 2003 and 2004. Lars, riding Succes and Dacardo, a world-class Swedish warmblood owned by Melissa Taylor, has also claimed may victories a the Winter Equestrian Festival, the Palm Beach Dressage Derby, Dressage at Devon, and the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Fall Festival. Most recently, Lars and Dacardo won both the Prix St Georges and Intermediarie I at the 2006 edition of Dressage at Devon. Currently, Lars is aiming Dacardo for a berth on the Danish team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Lars is a much sought-after trainer and clinician and has taught riders across the United States and Canada including professionals, amateurs, junior and young riders. He is currently the head trainer for approximately 30 horses at Legacy Farms.
